1. Taylor Swift - $170m
Singer Taylor Swift had the best year of her career in 2016 due to her world tour which grossed $250m. She also has sponsorship/endorsement deals with Coke & Apple.
2. One Direction - $110m
They may be on a break following Zayn Malik's departure but One Direction are still the biggest selling boyband of all time. Last year's On The Road Again tour raked in $200m.
3. James Paterson - $95m
Novelist and creator of the Alex Cross novels, James Paterson makes sure he churns out over 12 books a year. Many of his books have been turned into films including Kiss The Girls & Along Came A Spider.
4. Dr. Phil McGraw - $89m
The king of daytime TV psychiatry has also proved a shrewd businessman, making himself an executive producer of his show and his various spin-offs.
5. Cristiano Ronaldo - $88m
Cristiano was recently awarded FIFA's Ballon D'Or award and has broken the 50-goal a season mark for six seasons in a row for Real Madrid, making his $50m a year salary seem like peanuts. Maybe!
