Freesat changes on the channels
We are very sorry that the transponder changes that occurred during late September and early October has caused you to miss programming but the changes were part of a much larger set of transponder changes.
These transponder changes were caused by the resolution of a dispute between SES Astra, who own the Astra 2 satellites used for Sky and Freesat, and Eutelsat who own the satellite Eurobird 1 which also services the Sky and Freesat services in the UK. Essentially SES Astra were awarded frequencies which Eutelsat were using for some services. Unfortunately Movies for Men and More than Movies used these disputed transponder frequencies on EB1 and have therefore had to move to alternative transponders.
There was a very careful plan put in place by the satellite providers to mitigate any effects these transponder changes would have on Sky, Freesat, Virgin and other cable providers.
This involved an interim transponder change which allowed a managed change. All subscribers to Sky, Freesat, Virgin and other cable providers would not have seen any loss of programming because of these careful plans. However those few subscribers who use receivers which are not tuned by Sky or Freesat EPGs would have had to retune twice.
Sony Pictures Television apologises for the inconvenience caused to your viewing but these changes were unavoidable and were outside our control.
