Mary Poppins rides again!
Iconic screen nanny Mary Poppins is set to make a comeback in a brand new film adventure from Disney.
The character, originally played by Julie Andrews in the original film, will appear in a brand new screen musical.
The new film will takes its lead from all of the books in author PL Traver's eight part series. The original film was based only on the first volume.
The film will be set in post depression era London, around 20 years after the original. It will follow Mary Poppins as she has more adventures with the Banks family however the movie won't be billed as a sequel to the original.
The movie will be directed by Rob Marshall and the script is to be written by Life of Pi screenwriter David Magee and the film will feature original songs by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, famous for hits in Hairspray and Smash.
